Vehicle stopped and driver arrested |
||
|
Thank you to the member of the public who spoke up. Yesterday, a member of our community approached a PCSO in the city centre of York to share concerns about a vehicle that had entered a No Entry zone and whose driver appeared unfit to be behind the wheel. Thanks to that quick conversation, officers were able to locate the vehicle a short time later on the outskirts of the city. The driver tested positive on a roadside drugs wipe and was arrested for driving under the influence. Because someone took a moment to speak to us, an unsafe driver was removed from the roads, helping to keep everyone safer. This is exactly how community policing works at its best. Your information, no matter how small it may seem, can make a real difference. If something doesn’t look right, please continue to let us know — together we help keep our city safe. | ||
